Urgent: Critical Security Update for CCTV Systems

                        Immediate Action Required October 2024

CM Security wish to inform our clients of critical security vulnerabilities currently affecting multiple CCTV manufacturers worldwide. These vulnerabilities, identified by independent authorities such as the Australian Government’s ASD (Cyber Security Centre), impact a wide range of products from leading brands including Hikvision, HI-Look, Uniview, Tiandy, Swann, VIP, Dahua, Milestone, Avigilon, and Axis. These issues pose a significant risk to your surveillance infrastructure, and immediate action is necessary to mitigate these threats.

Why Immediate Action is Necessary:

Cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving, and the vulnerabilities discovered in CCTV systems can be exploited at any time. Malicious actors actively seek out weaknesses, and delaying these essential updates could expose your systems to serious risks, including:

  • Unauthorized access to your CCTV system, enabling intruders to view or manipulate video feeds.

  • External control of your CCTV system, potentially compromising sensitive areas of your business.

  • Data breaches, with the potential to leak confidential or sensitive information.

  • System failures, disrupting your surveillance and monitoring capabilities.

Given the severity of these vulnerabilities, it is critical to apply the recommended patches and firmware updates immediately. The manufacturer has made these updates available at their Download Centre, or you can contact CM Security’s technical support team for assistance.

Delaying action could leave your systems vulnerable, potentially resulting in serious consequences such as data breaches, security incidents, or operational downtime.

How CM Security Can Help:

At CM Security, we recognize the importance of keeping your systems up to date. For a limited time, we're offering complimentary system inspections to assess any vulnerabilities in your CCTV setup. After the inspection, we’ll provide a detailed report along with a quotation to ensure your systems are fully updated, secure, and protected from potential threats.

Given the urgency of this situation, we strongly encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to schedule this service. The longer your systems remain unpatched, the greater the risk of exploitation.

If you have any questions or would like to proceed with this critical update, please contact our office staff on (07)47253997 to enquire about a booking.

Liability Notice:

Please note that if the recommended updates are not completed, CM Security cannot be held liable for any security breaches, system failures, or unauthorized access resulting from unpatched or outdated systems. Taking immediate action is the best way to safeguard your surveillance infrastructure and protect your business from these evolving threats.
